Catch a Wave
BRP will soon be presenting the lanyard for a new Sea-Doo GTI watercraft to Alek Parker for his efforts in claiming the top spot during the 2007 Red Bull Tow-At event this past weekend at the Sebastian Inlet Pro surfing contest, according to a recent press release from event sponsor Sea-Doo.
The Red Bull Tow-At event is a competition where surfers are pulled into waves via a personal watercraft, providing them with added speed to perform aggressive aerial maneuvers and powerful turns. Parker was the local favorite among the nine worldwide competitors, as he lives only 15 miles to the north of the event in Melbourne Beach, Florida. Parker used his knowledge of the local break to fill his allotted time with spectacular aerial maneuvers to collect the greatest score total. He impressed the judges and the estimated 4,000 spectators and local media that filled the beach enough to take the win. Parker topped the eight other competitors who traveled from distant beaches including California, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
BRP supplied the power during the 2007 Red Bull Tow-At surfing event with a custom Sea-Doo WAKE watercraft. The event turned a day of sub-par waves into an action-packed exhibition of big air and slashing turns.
