11 February, 2007 : - - Gisborne?s Nathan Welch has today (Sunday) taken down the very surfers that he has looked up to all his life and won the Surfing New Zealand Pro held at Mount Maunganui?s Tay Street. To win Welch had to surpass the likes of Maz Quinn (Gis) and Bobby Hansen (Gis) in the final of the event to claim his first ever Open Men?s Division win on the Corona Crown Series.
