Paul doesn't just surf, he sometimes comes out and plays with us by teaching others, and he's pretty good at it, here he is with some of the students at a Morro Bay Tow Surfing Class 2004/2005.

He's the dude in red.

Paul at the December 8, 2006 Nelscott Reef Tow In Contest (Oregon) during the lunch break, Flea and Brummet taking a break, man was it cold, but it could have been worse, the weather Gods' were kind.....the fatigue is tough, it sneaks up on you slowly, wears you down little by little. You can see it etched in their faces, but man oh man, they're still amped to go when the bell tolls. Davey Smith, Santa Barbara aerial pioneer, is Paul's tow partner.

Well here it is, the 3 Amigos. That's Jonathan Cahill, whom I used to call 'the boy', but I can't do that anymore because he's a man now, he came to class when he was 17 by suggestion from Kevin Clark. He and Easton Thodos have been good friends with us since then and we've watched them grow up, but back to the real story....

Me in the middle and The Real Pablo as Shaniah would say of Uncle Paul.

This was the day after the 100' foot day up at Mav's. (2001) The three of us were out on the ocean on individual waverunners during the time this freakish set rolled towards land. Carlos Burle took this picture of us in front of Jeff Clarks shop, we were still trying to pull it together after that session, but not Pablo, he paddled out right away this day...LOL He's a nut. He's a madman!

He's a bigger nut than any of us, because he would sleep in a little pup tent in the rain sick as a dog over at the ocean front campground or at Dunes, and it was freezing up there, and he'd still get into a cold wetsuit and paddle out, I think he's crazier than me.

The infamous Davey Smith got Pablo into a sweet one....Oregon is good.
It was just another fun day of towing for the Santa Barbara Boys...
