Ice-9 Foam Works Launches Hybrid Blanks December 26, 2007 PRESS RELEASE

Orange County, CA - Ice-Nine Foam Works rips into 2008, the year of hollows according to an ancient wave-riding tribe, by launching its next quiver of plugs - hybrids.

As Ice-Nine adds another family to its growing clan of foam blanks, it zeroes in on its promise of a complete lineup of state-of-the-art, American-made surfboard blanks for both hand and machine shapers.

The three new hybrid plugs are 7'4", 8'4", and 9'4" designed by the award-winning Ice-9 Big Wednesday design team of Brian Bulkley, Midget Smith and Chris Kaysen. These blanks are fully road-tested and will cause those unlucky enough not to be riding them to be left in the line-up as waves close out amid defiant cries of "Eat my Backwash".

Ice-Nine's blanks come in two revolutionary kinds of polyurethane foam, called CANE and ABLE. CANE is a white environmentally-minded foam made from MDI-based technology and a sugar-based polyether. ABLE is also MDI-based, and is a white and tight high-performance foam. Ice-Nine's hybrid blanks now come in six weights: heavyweight, cruiser, welter, feather, bantam and fly.

Ice-Nine designs its standard rockers to be fairly neutral, but users can easily adjust rockers with Ice-Nine's online CADget software, which includes rockers matched to Clark's. Customizing rockers has never been so easy and accessible.

QUICKIE BACKGROUND REMINDER FOR COMING POP QUIZ: Ice-Nine Foam Works is a foam blanks manufacturer that searches out and implements new methods and materials that deliver better products to custom surfboard makers with the overall goal of elevating the surfing experience.
